Michael Brand visits DUO PLAST AG – focus on innovation and sustainability

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Michael Brand, Member of the German Bundestag and representative for the Fulda constituency, to our headquarters in Lauterbach once again. Mr Brand has been a member of the Bundestag since 2005 and is particularly involved in the areas of education, research, economics and the environment. As the Chairperson of the CDU/CSU Working Group on Human Rights and Humanitarian Aid, he is intensively committed to sustainable and forward-looking solutions – a topic that is also of central importance to us as a company.

Brand had already visited our company in the past, therefore we were all the more pleased to be able to present him with the latest developments and achievements. After a warm welcome and a brief introduction of the participants and our company, the conversation turned to Mr Brand’s extensive experience in the circular economy. We discussed how innovative packaging solutions and the use of recycled materials can drive the transition towards a truly circular economy.

During our conversation, we had the honour of presenting our latest WorldStar Award as well as introducing our new DUO ROBUSTA YELLOW BACK. This award is exemplary of our high standards in terms of sustainability and quality. Mr Brand was interested in the special features of the DUO ROBUSTA YELLOW BACK, which impresses not only with its robustness but also with its environmental friendliness.

We also presented our proven three-pillar concept, which forms the basis for our sustainable corporate orientation, and provided an outlook on planned future investments. Topics such as the expansion of our location, the planned implementation of the EU Packaging Ordinance (PPWR) and other strategic developments were discussed in detail.

At the end of the visit, Mr Brand had the opportunity to take a tour of our production facilities, where he was able to learn more about our working methods and innovations.

We would like to thank Mr Brand for his inspiring visit and the productive discussions. These kinds of meetings show us how important the dialogue between politics and business is in order to promote forward-looking solutions together.
