The history of DUO PLAST is characterized by ideas and commitment – and has been for more than 40 years now. Come with us on a short journey through our company history.

Product innovation

With the launch of DUO DOUBLE EDGE films (DDK films, with patented double edge), we have been ensuring maximum retention forces for load unit securing ever since.

Packaging optimzation

Thanks to practical tests in the area of load unit securing, we are able to offer our customers a complete solution (film, packaging machine, packaging optimization) in our test laboratory (DUO LAB).

Process innovation

Start of 4-color printing (flexographic printing) for stretch films.

2019

Expansion of DUO PLAST AG

The company becomes part of Paragon Partners.

Expansion of the Sünna site and commissioning of the 9-shift coex systems. This is followed by the expansion of recycling capacity – we give plastic a second life: Start of production of DUO EARTH films. This is the start of an entire sustainable generation of films with a PCR content of at least 30%.

Success all along the line

Expansion of the further processing stage and start of DUO AIR production in Lauterbach.

DUO PLAST AG wins the German Packaging Award in the sustainability category.

Awards

Our DUO EARTH film is honored with the World Star Award.

Another award follows – our central cooling system in Sünna is recognized by DENA on behalf of the BMWi as a climate protection-relevant lighthouse project in Germany.

We live sustainability!

Commissioning of the photovoltaic systems at the Sünna and Lauterbach sites with an annual output of 1 GWh/a.

Creation of the first Company Carbon and Product Carbon Footprints (GHG Protocol cradle to gate).

In line with our motto “Less is more”, our DUO RUNTEC film is launched.

We are ahead of the times …

Launch of extruder 10 for our stretch hood production (DUO ROBUSTA) at the Sünna site.

This year, we also celebrated our 40th company anniversary and the 20th anniversary of the Sünna site.

On top of this, another product launch takes place: DUO EARTH 6 with 65 % PCR content now complements our sustainable stretch film portfolio.

Integrated process optimization

In addition to the existing high-speed horizontal and vertical winders, a stretchhood system from our cooperation partner RHM in Sünna is put into operation. This will enable us to test any of our customers’ applications in practice.

German Packaging Award

We are proud to be one of the winners of the German Packaging Award 2024 in the category “Logistics and Material Flow”!

One of the recipients of the award from the German Packaging Institute was our innovative stretch hood cooperative project. This project was implemented in close collaboration with our partners Nestlé Germany and Der Grüne Punkt – Duales System Deutschland GmbH. Together, we developed stretch hoods that contain up to 20% recycled material from the Yellow Bag in the middle layer.
