Testing technologies
You have problems with ...
… increased material consumption
… securing your load units
… regular transport damage
Our test center at a glance - accredited by the DAkkS
Our technology center (D-PL-19044-01-00) is officially accredited for packaging testing by the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) in accordance with DIN EN ISO / IEC 17025:2018. We therefore work in accordance with national and international testing standards and are authorized to issue test reports. With DAkkS accreditation, we are an independent test center in the field of transport simulation as well as handling and temperature tests.
Accreditation guarantees that we work independently and provide you with objective results, that are recognized nationally and internationally. It is a quality feature that guarantees you validated test results. DAkkS accreditation is valid for five years and must be confirmed in several surveillance audits within this period.
Manual handling
Handling tests are used to assess whether products and load units can withstand the loads from handling operations without damage. Both individual packages and complete load units can be tested. Particular attention is paid to internal transportation with forklifts or pallet trucks. Loading and unloading situations can also be simulated. In addition to the stability of the load units, these test procedures focus on occupational safety. Reduce or prevent the risk of accidents caused by manual handling in your company.
Horizontal Impact
The Horizontal Impact technology consists of a computer-controlled carriage that applies specific acceleration values to the respective load units. The aim is to simulate shock and acceleration loads in a realistic manner in order to investigate horizontal transport influences on the load unit.
By specifying the required parameters, such as impact duration, impulse intensity or shear force, you can theoretically apply horizontal forces of up to 15 G to your load units.
In practice, horizontal loads often occur when the load hits external walls or other loads due to acceleration or braking, the coupling of rail vehicles or handling work in warehouses, distribution centers, airports and seaports.
By specifically evaluating the test runs with the help of a high-speed camera system, we can analyze the behavior of your loads accordingly.
Using the findings from simulation and analysis, we are able to develop a concept for securing load units that helps you to avoid transport damage caused by horizontal forces.
Vertical Vibration Tables
Your product is exposed to the constant risk of product damage due to the permanent stresses caused by transportation. For this reason, secondary packaging must not only serve to simply form load units. It must also make a decisive contribution to the protection of your transported goods and the safety of transportation. Permanent loads on the load unit in a vertical direction are those that can demand a particularly high level of stability from the packaging.
Climate chamber
Strength and holding forces are enormously influenced by the prevailing climatic conditions, so the load capacity of your packaging can vary greatly. This must be adequately taken into account when selecting and processing the film. In order to be able to examine the significance of these influences for the safety and stability of your load units, we have created a test environment that enables us to expose the load to be tested to an air-conditioned environment at the same time as the vertical tests.
Using adiabatic climatic chamber technology, you will be able to test your cargo at ambient temperatures of – 10 °C to + 60 °C and a humidity of RH 15 % to 98 %.
The climate chamber enables us to simulate special packaging scenarios under extreme temperature conditions, such as deep-freeze areas.
The spatial arrangement of the test technology, in particular the setup of the vertical vibration and pitch & roll test units within the climate chamber, enables us to provide you with a unique test environment for investigating complex load requirements in conjunction with climatic influences (field-to-lab simulation).
By evaluating the test results, your individual requirements for packaged goods and loading units can be determined.
Pitch & Roll Module
It is used to investigate the stresses caused by tilting and tilting movements as well as rotations and can therefore realistically simulate cornering.
- In combination with the technology of the Vertical Vibration Table, both subsystems form a test unit. The functional interaction of both test units makes it possible to create very realistic test conditions by combining many different loads at the same time (field-to-lab simulation).
- Weak points in packaging units can be specifically identified.
- Challenges that a load unit has to withstand in the midst of other load carriers can be examined using the existing test environment.

Workshop on packaging and load unit securing
Why are only around 60 % of loads correctly secured?
Is it due to a lack of time or a lack of awareness of the consequences of inadequate load securing? Take part in our seminar on load unit securing and experience at first hand how acceleration, cornering etc. affect load units.
Our excellent seminar didactics, the combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experience in packaging development guarantee sustainable and long-term learning results that go far beyond the theoretical teaching of legal requirements.
Learn how to secure goods in a legally compliant and effective manner in accordance with the requirements of the Technical Control Regulation and recognized norms and standards such as DIN EN 17321, EUMOS 40509 or ISTA 3B.
By teaching optimal packaging techniques and load securing processes.
Testing of own loading units in the test center is possible by prior arrangement and coordination (climate chamber, vibration table, horizontal acceleration sled).
If interested, the video evaluations and documentation can be made available afterwards.
