DUO PLAST AG wins the German Packaging Award 2024:

DUO PLAST AG, Nestlé, Der Grüne Punkt, German Packaging Award

Innovation honoured in the "Logistics and Material Flow" category

We are delighted to announce that our submission “Stretch bonnet with innovative use of 30% LDPE PCR including at least 13.2% post-consumer recyclate from the Yellow Bag” has been awarded the German Packaging Award 2024 in the “Logistics & Material Flow” category. This is a significant recognition of our innovative strength and our commitment to sustainable packaging solutions.

But what does it actually mean to be honoured with the German Packaging Award and what is the history of this award?

History and significance of the German Packaging Award

The German Packaging Award is the most prestigious European award in the packaging industry and is presented by the German Packaging Institute (dvi). Everyone involved shares the common goal of initiating innovative and sustainable approaches to “good packaging”.

Just like us, the dvi stands for “less is more” – as much packaging as necessary, as little as possible. We also believe that good packaging offers clear added value and also conserves resources.

We are proud that our passion for innovative and sustainable packaging solutions constantly pays off.

Renewed success and recognition for our innovative strength and dedicated employees and partners

Back in 2020, we were able to impress in the “Sustainability” category with our DUO EARTH 4 stretch film and received an award. This sustainable stretch film impressed with its proportion of at least 30% post-consumer recyclate and is available as both machine and hand stretch film.

Therefore, we are obviously extremely pleased about the renewed recognition from the German Packaging Institute. Anyone who is familiar with us knows that we are still far away from stopping developing new, even more sustainable and resource-saving packaging films. Because at DUO PLAST AG, we live and breathe sustainability and have been putting our heart and soul into blown film production since 1998.

This year, a very special collaboration between us and our partners Nestlé and Der Grüne Punkt was honored and the many hours of development and production have truly paid off.

Innovative stretch hood solution with a recycled content of up to 20%, consisting of plastic from the Yellow Bag

Our latest victory in 2024 is a story of innovation and commitment. With our stretch hood, which consists of 30% LDPE PCR and at least 13.2% post-consumer recyclate from the Yellow Bag, we have once again shown what we are capable of.

This stretch hood is not just a product, it is the result of intensive teamwork and state-of-the-art technology. It symbolizes our mission to make logistics and material flow more efficient and sustainable. Every step along the way, every small improvement and every new idea we introduce shows how much we care about the future of packaging.

Visit our stand at FachPack 4-134 to see our innovative film in action, and we kindly invite you to join us at the award ceremony on September 24, 2024.
